Toddler Tuesdays: Happy chaos

If you could see what's outside the frame on these shots today, you would probably laugh. My bedroom looks like a clothes bomb went off in it, killing several stuffed animals in the process. I try to keep the chaos reined in for the most part, but sometimes you just have to give in to it.

I was rushing (again!) to get ready this morning and spotted this gray dress, which was part of my recent Salvation Army binge. Throwing this on with leggings, boots and my new mustard cowl was super fast, easy and comfortable, and still left me feeling chic. Seriously, I feel like I'm wearing my nightgown, but I also feel like a million bucks.

If comfort wasn't an issue, I would have gone with some colorful stockings and bright heels. But I have a lot of running around to do today, and tights + heels was just not going to happen. So I added this turquoise and black plaid capelet instead for an extra touch of polish.

We had a lot of fun taking pictures today, but it was a little crazy and, yes, chaotic, too. My cat was running around everywhere (he even knocked the camera over at one point) and my daughter kept darting in and out of the frame. Here she is waiting for me to "fix" her plastic Easter egg.

I'm putting Work It Wednesdays on hold for right now, but I'm hoping to do a big linkup in April, so watch this space for details. And don't forget about this week's giveaway of a pretty blue necklace and matching earrings — great to add a little bright touch to an early spring outfit. All the details are in this post, or you can just follow any of my social media to be automatically entered to win. Oh, and I've added a few more items to my admittedly small, but growing, "shop my closet" Instagram account, which you can find at @bonmarchecloset — I hope you will check it out.

    1. I'm telling you, it was an enchanted visit to Salvation Army!

  2. You look fantastic! The cape takes the whole outfit an extra step, from regular polished to OMG polished, if you know what I mean.
