Work It Wednesdays: Mixing Prints

This week's Work It Wednesdays linkup challenge is "mixing prints." I'm excited to see how other people interpret this idea! Click through below to see the linkup and share your own looks.

I'll be the first to admit, I took kind of the coward's way out by doing a black-and-white outfit, but I discovered I hardly have any colorful print in my closet! So I didn't have much choice ... I figured that, since I stuck with a pretty safe color palette, I could pretty much go all-out. So I added the plaid stockings, plaid shoes and polka dot head scarf to really get as many prints in as possible.

Pardon the toddler photobombing here; I was in a rush this morning to get these pictures taken. I am going to try to snap a few more later on and update this post. I messed around with this head scarf and also added some lipstick (I always end up doing my makeup at work, it's kind of ridiculous), and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Black cardigan: Worthingon, JC Penney
Gray pearl necklace: Gift
Black-and-white print blouse: H&M, thrifted
Black-and-white Op Art print skirt: Heirloom
Black plaid stockings: Gift
Black-and-white plaid pumps: Lela Rose for Payless, thrifted
Total cost to me: About $20

Edit: Aaand I seem to be having trouble with the linkup once again ... please leave your link in the comments if the linkup button is not showing up for you!

  1. I'm impressed with how many prints you incorporated into the outfit without looking too busy! I'm gonna be a day late to this one. . . oops =/

    1. Hey, no problem, I set this linkup to be open for a few days this time so join in whenever! Can't wait to see what you come up with ... :)

    1. AARGH I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong with this linkup tool! But thanks for submitting a link anyway, I will add it to the linkup. :)
