Pretty in Pastels

Happy Monday! Well, kind of — I was up late last night and up early this morning, so I'm a little out of it today.

And for once, it's not even my daughter's fault! Nope, it was work keeping me up waaay past my bedtime (which is, like, 9:30 because I'm an old lady) this time. So I woke up feeling groggy, a bit crabby and not really in a pastel-springtime kind of mood.

But then I remembered about this dress, and it cheered me right up. I've had this in my shop for a while now, and I had been meaning to model it and show it off a bit. It's a lovely, lightweight, soft chambray cotton, and the palette is so perfect for springtime and Easter. And to be honest, getting dressed in this outfit this morning did actually cheer me up a bit.

To style this dress, I went with a classic combo that plays up the dress' timeless silhouette and highlights the pastel theme. But I also think it would look great with a leather belt and brown boots to give it a subtle Western flair. How would you style it?

I was excited to add this bracelet, which was part of my mini-shopping spree at Claire's Boutique on Friday. I will admit, I felt a little self-conscious shopping there amid the One Direction backpacks and other ridiculousness, but I got some cute stuff and I only spent about $10, which was the whole point. (Although I may have to go back for this necklace.)

    1. Thanks! I try to avoid buying cheap mass-produced goods but I just broke down this time and gave in to my jewelry lust. :) Thanks for the well wishes, too!
