I was a little befuddled at first by today's Style Me April prompt, "Pump Up the Volume." I just kept picturing 80s hair and huge shoulder pads. Then I thought about wearing a very full skirt (i.e. one with a lot of volume), but I wanted to wear pants today. So I decided to interpret this prompt by wearing "loud" colors. Not a stretch for me by any means ...
I started off with this electric yellow cardigan, which is a size too big for me, but I can't bear to part with it because I love the color so much. And I knew I wanted to wear my raspberry pants with it as well — a combo I've used several times before.
This is the first time I've worn this sheer indigo top — I bought it at an end-of-season clearance sale in the fall. It, too, is a bit big and it may yet wind up in my Instagram shop, so keep an eye out. And, at the risk of repeating myself, this mint belt is also a bit large. Why do I do this?
I am not 100% happy with this look; it's a little bit too unfitted/unpolished for my taste. But I do love the combination of colors. And can I just say how excited I am for tomorrow's prompt, "Borrowed or Thrifted"? I am going to push myself to come up with a really spectacular, all-thrifted outfit to showcase just how fabulous you can be wearing thrift store clothing.
