Do you ever have a phase in your life when you just feel like you're constantly rushing from one thing to another, and doing stupid stuff like losing your keys, or spending forever looking for something that was right in front of your nose the whole time? Well, yeah, that would be the last few weeks for me.
But I digress. After weeks of just being mad that my camera is broken, I decided to (sort of) do something about it. Did I go out and buy a new camera. Nah. Did I buy a tripod for my cellphone? Certainly not. Did I fashion a tripod out of a cardboard box and a candle holder?
Yes. Yes, I did.
So these photos may not be my finest work, but that's OK. I'm back in the game, and I'm kind of surprised how much I missed it. (Insert amateur psychoanalysis here.)
My fashion challenge for August is @thethriftynatural's "New to Me August" challenge. It's a simple one: wear those items that have been languishing in your closet that you've never worn before. Thanks to consignment, Instagram and Etsy, I now have a lot fewer of these items — and, let's be honest, I tend to wear new stuff the moment I get it because I'm so excited about it. So I'm modifying the challenge, and trying to wear things that I hardly ever wear. Which was why I started making up my own fashion challenges in the first place ... so I've kind of come full circle. Or something. Anyway, if you want to get in on the fun, check it out on Instagram.
Edit: Sooo, in my exuberance over creating an outfit post again, I forgot to include any actual details about the outfit! Here you go:
Black linen dress: H&M, thrifted
Red woven belt: Vintage, thrifted
Black peep-toe wedges: Aerosoles, thrifted
Red leather bracelet: Gift
Total cost to me: About $3.50 (I love summer!)
