It all started about a year ago when I decided I wanted to do a quick knit as a Christmas present for my sister. I poked around a little bit looking at patterns (I always want to call them "recipes" for some reason) and decided to just wing it, as is my wont. I whipped up a seed-stitch circular cowl in no time. It was fast going on circular needs, and was just the right sort of mindless knitting for dark evenings in front of the TV. As soon as I bound it off, I knew I wanted to knit another one.

Since then I've been knitting furiously (well, furiously for me, which is actually pretty slow) and leaping on any bargain yarn I come across. I started out with solids in basic colors, but now I'm having a wonderful time playing around with color. And I'm finally ready to share the fruits of my labors with the world. Eight warm and snuggly hand-knit cowls are now available for purchase in my Etsy shop.
To kick off the launch of this mini collection (which I will be adding to over the next several weeks), I'm giving away a custom made cowl. The winner will get to pick up to three colors from my rainbow of yarns, and help me design a cowl using those colors. I have set aside time to complete this project so that it will be ready in time for the holidays. It will make a terrific gift, or a nice way to treat yourself amid all the present-buying.
To enter, follow @bonmarchecouture on Instagram, and share my giveaway post (make sure to tag it #bmcgiveaway). You can earn bonus entries by commenting here with your favorite cowl from my shop, by following Bon Marche Couture on Facebook, or by sharing my Facebook giveaway post.
This drawing closes at noon Saturday, Nov. 22, and winners will be asked to make their yarn selection by Nov. 30 to guarantee availability. So start thinking about colors now! (A complete color swatch with yarn details will be provided to the winner.)
