It feels safe without looking too safe. The red says, "I tried, at least a little." And the black and white makes it easy.
Because this was one of those days when I want to look as if I tried, even though really this was an outfit of opportunity. I spied these red skinnies which, being totally honest, I had forgotten I owned. And next to them was this top I picked up in a free pile at a rummage sale (always check the free pile!). It has a few stains, but I'm not bothered. (Yes, I washed it.)
Some days a good outfit is just a cherry on top. And other days, like today, it's more like a lifeline. It can be the one thing that goes right for you in your day, the one thing you feel like you can do. And it feels like it's worth being 15 minutes late to get it right.
