Mood Enhancer: White lace top + peach jeggings

This outfit was an exercise in taking the ordinary and making it, if not extraordinary, then at least a little bit better.

I am working night shifts this week, which means not a lot of sleep, so I am looking for easy and comfortable outfits like this one: A loose tunic and jeggings. And if this had been a few years ago, I would have stopped there. My idea of accessorizing was picking out shoes that matched my outfit.

But since then I have really started to enjoy taking a simple outfit and turning it into a look, conveying a mood or an idea. So I think about adjectives — how am I feeling? How do I want to feel? How do I want people to feel when they see me?

In this case, I was feeling tired and kind of down, so I wanted to turn that around with a look that was light, airy and soft.

What about you — do you use clothes to reflect your mood, or to change it? For me, it depends on the day.

  1. I love that first picture of you so much. I can't pinpoint exactly what makes it so great (the outfit? the pose? the face you are making?), but it jumped off the screen at me.
I do a little bit of both when it comes to what I want an outfit to feel like. That's the great thing about clothes is they can be used however you want to use them.

    1. Thanks! I was feeling pensive, it must have showed through. I have been trying to experiment with different poses because there are only so many ways you can stand up against your closet doors ...

  2. Pretty in peach! Thanks so much for linking up with Fun Fashion Friday. I hope your weekend is wonderful!
