Thrift audit: Shady thrift store, March 26

This is part of a series of posts pulling back the veil on my process for buying and selling secondhand clothes:

Sometimes when you are thrifting, you have to follow your instincts. I woke up one day about a month ago and said to myself, "This feels like a good day to haul my kid to a town half an hour away to go to a weird thrift store." And sure enough, it was. (That being said: I know the quality of these photos is not my best work ...)

Ray of Sunshine: Yellow skirt, polka dot top ... and a toddler

There are the days I wake up knowing exactly what I want to wear, and I put it together and it looks just the way I want, and I head out the door feeling great. Then there are the other 364 days of the year.

Thrift audit: March 23, Salvation Army

This is part of a series of posts pulling back the veil on my process for buying and selling secondhand clothes:

I don't know if it's because it's spring, and people are clearing out their closets or what, but I have been on a ROLL lately when it comes to thrifting. (Update: I totally forgot the top three items in this photo when I first posted this! They have been added below.)

Housewife Cinderella: Gold cardigan and chambray dress

Darkness: Black bow-front blazer and polka dot dress

Is it telling that I wore all bright, sunny, cheerful pastel colors while I was on vacation, and then my first day back to work I wore ... this?

Winning at Sewing: DIY Maxi Dress

So a few weeks ago, I suddenly decided I NEEDED a maxi skirt. This happens to me from time to time — I am just struck with a strong urge (call it an obsession if you like) for a certain garment.

Thrift audit: February/March report card

This is part of a series of posts pulling back the veil on my process for buying and selling secondhand clothes:

Now that March is at an end (thank god, let it be April already!), I figured I would look back on these "thrift audit" posts and see how I'm doing, in general.
