Thrift Audit: Salvation Army Mega-Haul, March 7, Part 2 of 2

As promised, I'm following up today with the second half of a mega haul I introduced last week. Real talk: I literally did not even remember half of what I bought until I hauled it out of my closet yesterday morning (I'm calling it thriftnesia, and please tell me I am not the only one who experiences this?).

Total spent: $16.82
Items purchased: 33
Cost per item: $0.51

As with last week's thrift audit, all items marked "sell" are available to be purchased via Instagram (click the item title for a link). I'm going to keep items in the IG shop for at least a week after they're posted, at which time vintage items may migrate to Etsy (at higher prices) and newer merchandise will to go consignment if it's in season. So if you are interested or have questions, let me know right away!

Robin's egg blue Jones New York blazer, size 12

Keep or sell: Sell
A lightweight blazer that would be good for spring.
Good or bad buy: Good buy, I think — may get caught in seasonal limbo, but it's a nice piece.

New York & Co. mustard blazer, size 14

Keep or sell: Sell
I love the cutaway front of this blazer, which is also soft and lightweight.
Good or bad buy: Not sure — on the hanger, it looks kinda 90s in what I'm not sure is a good way. But in person it looks really nice to me.

Jones New York cranberry cardigan with ruffle detail, petite medium

Keep or sell: Sell ... ?
No, you aren't seeing double; this is kind of the twin of a sweater I posted last week.
Good or bad buy:

Anne Klein mohair lace open-front cardigan, size large

Keep or sell: Sell
So, so soft and cuddly! I feel like this could fit a range of sizes because of the cut and style.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

NY&Co. cotton sleeveless top with tie, size small

Keep or sell: Sell
I love the retro-inspired print of this top, which reminds me of a 60s bathing suit. It's labeled small, but I think it runs a little big and could fit a medium.
Good or bad buy: Good buy — I can sell this on consignment right away if no one claims it on Instagram.

Vintage 80s-does-40s blazer with navy detailing, size 6

Keep or sell: Sell
How cute are the buttons and trim on this blazer? It's got me scheming all sorts of ideas for embellished sewing projects.
Good or bad buy: Good buy — it will go up on Etsy if it's not claimed on Instagram.

Gap pink cotton blazer, size 0

Keep or sell: Sell
The color of this blazer actually reminds me of a very faded Nantucket red, which somehow makes it even better. I love the toile lining, as well. It is a bit broken-in, but still in great shape overall.
Good or bad buy: Good buy, although I'm not sure if I can consign it now, or if it will have to wait for fall.

Black fluttery skirt with bow tie, size 4

Keep or sell: Sell
Very pretty little skirt in what feels like silk, although I didn't spot a care tag.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

Cable & Gauge embellished cardigan, size medium

Keep or sell: Sell ... ?
My cardigan addiction tells me that if this one doesn't sell, I'll probably keep it. I love the color and the embellished design.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

Loft oatmeal boyfriend sweater, small

Keep or sell: Sell
I was skeptical of this style of cardigan for a while, but I'm a total convert. This one is a nice light viscose blend, which makes it good for warmer weather.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

Loft paisley print ankle length capris, size 12

Keep or sell: Sell
I have been yearning for a pair of printed pants, but sadly these are not my size. I have a pair in a similar cut (which I thrifted several weeks ago and wore here) and I love them.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

Ann Taylor "curvy fit" gray trousers, size 8P

Keep or sell: Sell
I was really hoping these would fit me — they're super soft, but not heavy, so I feel like I could wear them year-round. But the fit wasn't quite right — they sit just below the waist, and my waist is NOT a size 8, apparently.
Good or bad buy: Good buy — I am sure they will be a good fit for someone.

Gloria Vanderbilt "Jordan" checked trousers, size 12

Keep or sell: Sell
So nice and crisp looking. Pair with a white blouse and black heels and you're golden.
Good or bad buy: Good buy

Express sheer floral pussy bow top, size 0

Keep or sell: Sell
I was smitten with the pretty print and colors of this top, but I failed to notice that it had a few tiny holes near the right shoulder. However, I would still wear it in the condition it's in, and certainly no one would ever be the wiser if you wore this top under a blazer or cardigan.
Good or bad buy: Not a good buy, considering the damage (should have inspected it more closely! There's one in every haul).

Free People halter top with crochet detailing, size 4

Keep or sell: Sell
Really love the crochet trim and the braided ties at the top. The panels over the bust are semi-sheer.
Good or bad buy: Good buy — I don't often come across this brand while thrifting, so this was a good find.

Vintage Jaeger black velvet maxi skirt (25" waist)

Keep or sell: Sell
Someone's got to tell me the secret of photographing black velvet, because it's definitely one of my weak points. So I'll just tell you that this velvet skirt is SO lush and gorgeous. It's really nice, thick, high quality velvet, not flimsy or cheap.
Good or bad buy: Good buy — it may not be in season, but you don't find vintage velvet like this every day.

Overall grade: A-
Keep / sell ratio:
Keep 7% / Sell 93%

Honestly, I would give myself an A, but there were a few minor missteps here (the dress from last week that I gave away, for example) so I'm deducting a few imaginary points. But overall, I stuck to my mission of finding clothes I can easily sell via Instagram or consignment, and limiting my vintage purchases until I work through more of my back stock — especially since rummage sale season will begin in earnest after Easter.
